I often hear parents say mini sessions are perfect for them because their child wont last for a full session. But, Full one hour sessions are truly my favorite thing. Especially for families with young children.
There is so much emotion and detail that needs to be documented while we are living in the chaos that is having toddlers.
My children are currently 2 and 3 years old. I realize as I look at their sweet faces that one day they wont care for me to hug them as much, they wont ask me to hold them while I do house hold chores, they wont want to hold hands everywhere we go and some day we wont even live under the same roof.
I want your family photos to document a feeling. I want you to look back on them and remember how their soft toddler cheek felt against yours, and how small their hand felt wrapped in yours. Young children communicate so much with their expressions and physical touch. But often times these sweet authentic moments aren’t seen until about 30 minutes in to a session. After we get through the smiling portraits and the kids are feeling comfortable THATS where the magic happens. The second half of the session is were we get to document details, giggles, playing, snuggles, twirls, connection and movement.
Documenting these sweet moments is truly my passion. I want to fill your walls with images not just of you all smiling and looking at the camera, but of you having sweet moments with your children, taking time to stop and smell flowers or just simply watching them twirl. Typically the second half of sessions is spent just photographing moments of your children just being themselves. Playing, running and snuggling, and if you ask me, that is the best part!
Jessica Shore is a Raleigh, NC family and newborn photographer. She has a passion for photographing sweet moments between family. She loves working with young children and newborns. She has experience as a newborn and postpartum nurse making her highly skilled in newborn safety. She is also a mother of two toddlers so she has no fear when it comes to toddlers who aren’t always that willing to participate.
